Gorgeous*3 Energy



Gorgeous*3 Energy is the debut project from Prior Self (previously Lithe), and the first release on his new label home away from home.



Gorgeous*3 Energy was written over the course of 2023 — a year of incomprehensible change for me and many people around me.

What I'm sharing with you now is the soundtrack of those transformative months: suddenly moving back to the town I grew up in after 13 years away, the hopelessness and reluctant acceptance of having to leave friends and family behind, the impossible unpreparedness of trying to support a grieving partner, being forced to slow down, learning to reconnect with the place I grew up in as an adult after so long away, and lastly finding beauty and comfort in the things I took for granted.

In a weird way this album mirrors the first Lithe EP, ‘Fervent Gum’. That record was inspired by the country I saw on the road trip from Townsville to Melbourne when I was 19, and the potential and the opportunity that I hoped was waiting for me. Now as the first record under the name Prior Self, ‘Gorgeous*3 Energy’ is inspired by the journey “home”.
